How I handle your details
Short version: I only use what you send me to reply to you and, if we work together, to do the work. I don't sell it, I don't add you to a mailing list, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.
Who I am
Day Eight is run by Rich Tyler in Bristol. I'm responsible for any personal details you send through this website or by email. If you have a question about your data, email richard@dayeight.co.uk.
What I collect
- What you type into the form on this site: your name, business, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- Emails you send me, and my replies.
- If we work together, the notes from our calls and the information you share for the audit or the setup.
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store anything on your device, and doesn't fingerprint you. Cloudflare processes this visit data for Day Eight.
Why I use it
- To reply to you and arrange a call. That's in both our interests, and it's what you asked for.
- If we work together, to do the work we've agreed, and to keep the business records the law requires.
I won't send you marketing emails unless you ask for them.
Who else handles it
A few services help me run the site and my email. They only handle your details to provide their service to me.
- Formspree receives what you send through the form and passes it to my inbox. Formspree's privacy policy.
- Google Workspace runs my email. Google's privacy policy.
- Netlify hosts this website and keeps short-term server logs, including IP addresses, to run and protect it. Netlify's privacy policy.
Some of these companies are based in the US, so your details may be stored or processed there.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries for up to two years after we last spoke, then delete them. If we work together, I keep business records for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email richard@dayeight.co.uk and I'll sort it within a month.
If you're not happy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
